The Sandigan Maritime Training, Inc. Workshop is fully equipped with various kinds of hand tools, measuring instruments, engine (diesel and gasoline) and other engine parts. It also contains other equipments like the Reefer Container, Refrigeration Machine, Purifier, Air Compressor, Gas and Electric Welding equipment, Hydraulic Trainer and Lathe Machine.<\/p>\n

The Workshop area is the venue to experience practical training in engine overhaul, gas and electric welding, operation and trouble shooting of hydraulic and refrigeration machine and lastly, overhaul of fuel oil purifier<\/p>\n

The Polaris Ship\u2019s Bridge Simulator is capable of simulating a realistic environment for all of the STCW\u201995 competence requirements. The simulator is able to provide realistic training to mariners with different levels of experience. It is also capable of simulating realistic and interactive scenarios to gauge a seafarer\u2019s level of competence in various situations and weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Man-Machine interface is based on Windows with pull-down menus and standard Windows mouse operations. The bridges are normally equipped with generic consoles similar to those found on real ships. Due consideration has been given to make the operation of the equipment easy and logical in order to save on valuable simulator time, which would otherwise be required to learn how to operate the simulator equipment.<\/p>\n

Briefing facilities are a part of Polaris Bridge Simulator. This comprises automatic recording of exercises, allowing the playback of exercises in real or accelerated time. Time stamped event markers, if entered during the exercise run can be used to quickly address the parts of the exercise that is important for the briefing. A colored printer is installed in all our Polaris Bridge Simulators to print exercise parameters. These parameters may be printed as graphs or as tabulated figures. The printer can also make a situation plot of a selected area.<\/p>\n

The state-of-the-art computer room ensures the enhancement of trainee\u2019s skills by providing an excellent network of 25 workstations with 2.8 GHz Intel Pentium IV processor and 17\u2033 LCD monitor. The room is equipped with a multimedia projector for faster and more effective learning. Here, the trainees will be exposed to up-to-date computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Internet facilities to harness their potentials towards becoming more efficient workers.<\/span><\/p>\n

All Officers and Crew are Regularly given On Board Training based on SOLAS , MARPOL & Company developed Safety Management System. Additionally training is provided for keeping the knowledge updated on how to deal with the Emergencies , National & International Regulations etc . Senior shipboard staff is expected to regularly brief their junior staff in upgrading knowledge with respect to vessel equipment & system etc.<\/span><\/p>\n
